DUDLEY Town chairman Steve Austin thinks the win over Bilston Town Community last Saturday has taken the pressure off his players.

The Robins bagged a 3-1 home victory thanks to a brace from Shawn Davenport and a strike from Adam Wright.

Austin said: "It was an important win for us and gives us a little more breathing space from the bottom end of the table.

"The players can now go into the next few games with the pressure off and attempt to add some more points.

The result saw Town bounce back from last Wednesday's 3-1 home defeat to Wellington.

They are now set to face Wolverhampton Sporting Community at the Dell Stadium tonight before going to Bewdley Town this Saturday.

"The next two games are important for us," added Austin.

"Some positive results would see us comfortably mid-table and with the chance to consolidate that position as we enter the end of the season."

Meanwhile, Dudley Sports' game against third-placed AFC Bridgnorth was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

They were set to face leaders Sporting Khalsa last night before taking on Malvern Town away this Saturday.
