HALESOWEN Town chairman Colin Brookes says they have to take their chances if they are to end their 11 game winless streak.

Brookes is keen for the Yeltz to get their first three points since the start of February, especially ahead of Easter Monday's derby day clash with rivals Stourbridge.

Manager John Hill's men face a long trip to play-off chasing Blyth Spartans this Saturday before hosting the eagerly-anticipated battle with the Glassboys two days later.

Brookes says the players must put their recent form to the back of their minds against their near neighbours.

"The players will be up for the game," he said. "All they can do is forget recent results and focus on putting in a performance for the fans.

"It is all about the fans and giving them the bragging rights."

However, it was the number of missed chances that was concerning Brookes the most following last Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Trafford and Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Belper Town.

"Trafford was very frustrating because we should have been four or five up at half time," he added. "Instead we were 1-0 down and they had something to hang onto.

"It was similar against Belper. Once again we had the chances but couldn't convert them.

"They fell to players that would usually take them. I guess when you are on a difficult run that starts to happen. Players start to rush chances and it doesn't go your way.

"I spoke to John (Hill) the other day and he thinks we have created around 30 chances in the two games. We have scored three of those so it shows our problem.

"The main thing is we are getting into the positions so hopefully it won't be long before we punish someone."

Meanwhile, The Yeltz have ruled out forward Aaron Daniels for the rest of the season after he broke his foot against Trafford last Saturday.

Aaron Ford has also been missing due to a bout of tonsillitis but could return to the fold soon.
