CRADLEY hot shot Ellis Perks is eager to maintain his spectacular start to the 2015 campaign.

The talented teenager has racked up 41 points in his opening three meetings in green, red and white.

He was again the Heathens’ match-winner in their narrow 47-43 win over Coventry in their National League opener at Perry Barr last week.

Perks, 18, was delighted to help his new club get their campaign off to a perfect start with his 14 points seeing them edge a hard-fought win.

As they prepare to return to action with a tough test against Eastbourne at Perry Barr on Wednesday, April 22 (7.30), he is now looking to continue his flying form to help the Heathens retain their National League title.

Perks said: “It was a really tight meeting against Coventry, but all the boys were scoring well and we managed to come away with the win which was great.

“It was an important win for us, we needed to get our season off to a good start and we managed to

“It was another good night for me, it was a shame I was excluded in heat 15 but other than that I was really happy.

“I was making some good starts and riding some nice lines, so I’ll take the positives and hopefully keep on developing and scoring plenty of points.

“I’m really pleased with how things are going, I’ve had a great start and I just want to maintain it.

“I should move into the main body of the team at some point hopefully, things will be a bit tougher then but I’m confident I can keep my good form going.

“It’s not going to be plain sailing for us as a team this year, but hopefully I can keep doing my job and we can get everything else scoring points as well.

“We want to come away with the league title at the end of the season, that’s the goal, so I want to do everything I can to help us achieve that.

“Hopefully as a team we can keep improving and build on a good start and we can help Cradley defend the title.”
