STOURBRIDGE youngster Charlotte Bardsley was forced to settle for silver at the Butterfly Schools’ National Table Tennis Championships.
The 12-year-old pupil at Heathfield School, Wolverley, was seeded number one in the under-13 girls’ category and duly eased through to the final, where she met second seed Gauri Duhan of Hull.
And Duhan took the title with a 3-0 win in a final, which was closer than the scoreline of 11-9, 12-10, 11-3 suggested.
Bardsley said: “It was a good final, the first two sets could have gone either way. I think I played really well on the day – I didn’t drop any sets until the final.”
