THE SUN shone down on Wollaston Tennis Club on Saturday as the club put on a show for their 2015 Club Championships Finals Day.

Over six hours of tennis, and 13 separate finals saw the club crown a new men’s singles champion in 18-year-old Adam Tranter.

Adam won a tight contest against Noah Crampton 6-4, 6-4, with both players playing in their first championship final.

The trophy was presented to Adam by 13-time club champion Dave Edwards.

The ladies final saw Alison Grove retain her title with a straight sets win over Margaret Kodz.

This was Alison’s third ladies singles title.

In the doubles tournaments, new Wollaston member Richard Davies triumphed twice, firstly teaming up with Pete Talbot to take the men’s doubles 6-4 in the deciding set against Adam Tranter and Noah Crampton.

The ladies doubles title was taken by Hannah Didlock and Yvonne Tivey, beating Alison Grove and Anita Shinton 6-2, 6-3. Colin Brown and Liz Wilson took the mixed doubles trophy after defeating last year’s winners Pete Talbot and Lou Cornell 6-4, 6-4.

The Mini Green competition saw the title retained by Joseph Webb. Joseph beat Daniel James 6-3, 6-4. Michael Scriven won the Mini Orange junior competition in a tight match against Lydia Condlyffe-Fisher.
