HALESOWEN Town manager John Hill says he will be challenging his players to reproduce the levels they hit against Nantwich Town on Tuesday night.

The Yeltz drew 1-1 with the Northern Premier League's second placed side and would have taken all three points had it not been for an injury time leveller at The Grove.

Even though he admitted his players were down at the final whistle, he wants them to take the positives from the showing in preparation for this Saturday's visit of Matlock.

Hales have now drawn their last two games after a goalless stalemate with Whitby last Saturday.

Hill said: "It was gutting to let one in against Nantwich so late on and it was a very quiet dressing room afterwards.

"It was a great performance from us. We did ever so well and really stuck to our task against a side that has started the season very well.

"The challenge now is that we reproduce that performance this weekend. If we do that then we will be very close to taking all three points again.

"We will lift the players in training this week and make sure they take the positives from the game."

The Yeltz squad was boosted this week with the news that Kidderminster Harriers loanees Reece Hales and Keyon Reffell will stay at the Grove for another month.

However, Hill confirmed he is still scouring the market to find further reinforcements.

"We have a number of irons in the fire and are hopeful that we will do some business in the next couple of weeks," he added.

"The squad is settling down now and has taken shape a little more. It has taken some of the summer arrivals a little while to find their feet but they are beginning to have a real impact."

Hales will still be without Ashley Parsons-Smith and Chris Westwood this Saturday.

Parsons-Smith has now had the cast removed from his broken arm but is still five weeks away, while Westwood will find out the results of a knee scan at the weekend.
