BOSS Mark Jones says Cradley Town’s players looked a little tired during Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at AFC Bridgnorth.

The manager thinks his squad was still feeling the effects of last Saturday’s thrilling 4-2 FA Vase success over rivals Lye Town.

Adam Meacham and Jovan Blake-Walker both hit doubles as Cradley progressed to book a trip to Derbyshire Nottinghamshire side Pinxton on October 31.

He said: “I think the Lye victory took a lot out of the players.

"They looked a little leggy at times and I think this game a bit too soon.

“Saying that, we still had the chances to take something from it and a draw would probably have been a fair result.

“It was brilliant to beat Lye and we can hopefully take a lot of confidence from that.

“At the moment we are still ahead of where we thought we would be and have definitely overachieved so far.

"But now we are at the top end of the table we want to stay there.”

Cradley don’t have a game this weekend but return to league action at Pegasus Juniors next Tuesday.
