STOURBRIDGE manager Gary Hackett has praised his side’s professionalism ahead of this Saturday’s FA Trophy clash with Spennymoor Town.

The Glassboys returned to league action with a 3-1 away success at Marine last Saturday and have their massive FA Cup clash with Eastleigh on the horizon.

However, Hackett says his players won’t have any problems giving their full attention to this weekend’s third qualifying round contest in the Trophy.

“We will be focusing on one game at a time,” said the boss.

“It is understandable that people will be looking at the Eastleigh game a week later but it won’t be an issue for the players.

“They are a very professional group and have done everything that we’ve asked of them.

“They showed they have the right attitude with the win at Marine. They approached the game in the right manner and got the job done. It was a solid all round team performance.

“We know the game against Spennymoor will be tough because they have beaten some good sides already. We have to make sure we are fully prepared.”

A double from forward Karl Hawley and a strike from Tom Tonks handed Stour a deserved win on Merseyside against Marine.

The line-up saw two changes as Chris Knight replaced Stuart Pierpoint and Ben Billingham came in for Justin Richards.

“Ben came in and looked very sharp up front and Chris Knight did well with Dan Scarr at the back. It was good to see,” added Hackett.

The opener came when Hawley converted a Chris Lait cross after just nine minutes.

Stour then notched a second just before the break when Tonks prodded the ball home to record his first for the club since his summer move from neighbours Halesowen.

The hosts kept the game alive through Chad Whyte before Hawley secured the points before the end.

Justin Richards (back) and Leon Broadhurst (thigh) will have injuries assessed before the Spennymoor game (3pm).
