CRADLEY fans favourite Ashley Morris is counting down the days to his first meeting back with the club.

Morris, who won every honour possible with the Heathens during his four seasons with them, is set for an emotional return to the green, red and white.

And he admits he will be on guard to avoid any complacency after a successful spell with King’s Lynn in the top flight last season.

Morris said: “Obviously I haven’t ridden in the National League for a couple of years, but I know I’m still going to have to be at my best – and to be honest I can’t wait to get started back with Cradley.

“There are some really good riders at this level and this sport is never easy, so I’ll need to keep working hard and not be complacent.

“I obviously haven’t got a team place in the Premier League but I’m viewing the situation positively and I’m delighted to be back with Cradley.

“I’m excited for the season to start now and I’m just looking to make the most of it. If I’m going out and winning races it can only help me and build my confidence no matter what level it’s at, so that’s what I’ll be trying to do.

“Hopefully stepping back into the National League can help me get back to my best and start moving forwards again.

“The last season I had with Cradley was great, so if I can get back to that form and win races on a regular basis again to help us win meetings that will be brilliant.”

Meanwhile, tickets are running out as the new-look Heathens prepare to meet with supporters for the first time ahead of the new season.

Only 30 tickets remain for their Season Launch Night at Cradley Heath Liberal Club on Monday, March 21.

They cost £5 and are available from the club shop in Cradley Heath Market or on the club's official website, cradleyheathens.co, via paypal.
