TIVIDALE will attempt to breathe life into their survival fight when they take on Goole AFC this Saturday.

Tivi travel to the league third from bottom site looking to slash the current 11 point gap between the two sides. A victory would also offer hope of a late Dale surge after a difficult campaign.

Club secretary Leon Murray said: "It is a big game and it is the sort of game we have to win if we have hope of clawing back the points.

"The players will go into the game in really good spirits. Our form has been good recently, especially when we went to Rugby and got an excellent point.

"If we can build on that we can hopefully put in another good showing."

Meanwhile, Murray was left frustrated after last Saturday's clash with Kidsgrove Athletic was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Beeches.

The club arranged for a local referee to inspect the playing surface in the morning and he gave the go ahead. However, when the match referee arrive later he decided the pitch was unplayable.

Murray said: "It was frustrating that the game couldn't go ahead because we did everything we possibly could. We bent over backwards to try and help Kidsgrove as well.

"They asked if we could get someone in early to give them more notice and we did that, only for the official ref to then go against the first decision."

Murray confirmed that no more signing are imminent for the moment after manager Phil Male already boosted his squad last week.
