STOURBRIDGE have appointed Nathan Bennett as the new assistant-manager of club's under-18 youth team.

He was a popular figure at the heart of the Glassboys' defence between 2005 and 2014, chalking up 413 appearances and scoring 64 goals for the club after arriving from Cradley Town. He played a major role in the club's two promotions and three highly memorable FA Cup runs during this time.

Bennett, who is the director of sport at Stourport High School, joins the new-look Glassboys youth team management line-up with boss Kieran Bustin and returning coach Jon Purdie.

Stourbridge vice-chairman Andy Bullingham said: "We are delighted to have one of our most experienced and reliable players of recent times back in a senior role at the club. We obviously wish Kieran, Nathan and Jon all the best for the new season and we would like to invite all of our eligible youth team players to the club next Thursday (June 23) at 7pm to meet their new management team."
