NETHERTON got their promotion push back on track with victory at Malvern last Saturday.

They bounced back well from the previous weekend's disappointing defeat at Avoncroft with a five-wicket win.

Bowler Conor Warby bagged a five-wicket haul to restrict the hosts to 261 after they had won the toss and elected to bat.

Malvern opener Anthony Arnold hit 69 to help his side to a decent start after Alastair Hall falling early.

Tom Hale top scored with an unbeaten 71 to help his side to a competitive total despite Warby's threat with the ball.

In reply, Netherton skipper Russell Oseland made 43 before being caught off the bowling of James Arnold.

However, Troy Lee and Paul Harris both smashed 73 to edge their side towards their target, which they reached in the 50th over for the loss of five wickets.

Netherton are now in fifth place in Division Three of the Worcestershire County League but remain hot on the heels of those in the promotion places.

They will now welcome third-from-bottom side Barnards Green to Highbridge Road this Saturday (1pm).
