TIVIDALE manager Dave King's squad rebuild is continuing ahead of this Saturday's first pre-season friendly.

The new boss at the Beeches is talking to a host of last season's players as well as assessing a number of trialists.

Dale will look at more players when they go to Avis Sporting this Saturday.

King said: "I'm really happy with how everything is going.

"The club has been great and given me everything I've asked for.

"We have already had three training sessions and the response has been brilliant. We are looking at a lot of players as we try to put a squad together. We are now in a position where we need to whittle down the numbers a little and make decisions on those we want to keep.

"We are also speaking to some of last season's squad and can hopefully start announcing some signings next week.

"It will be good to finally start playing again too. We will be assessing the players further once we can see them getting game time. It's an exciting time."

King arrives at Packwood Road with an impressive record leading his former Stourbridge youth players to four league titles, seven county cups and one league cup and completed the treble three times and he has also seen a number of his players go into professional football.

Before that he led Lye Town to the West Midland Regional League Premiership title.

King has been joined at Tividale by fellow Glassboys’ youth coach Steve Fellows and Dave Hayward, who will help with recruitment.

He is still in the hunt to add another member to his backroom team.
