BLACK Country Rangers continued their fine start to the West Midlands Premier League season with a 5-1 win against Ellesmere Rangers.

A double for forward Chris Bladen, an own goal and strikes from Montell Brown and Kennie Roberts handed manager Tony Maffei’s side a second win from their first three games.

The boss is pleased with his team’s start to the season.

He said: “It was a really good win against Ellesmere, who were one of the only teams to beat us last season.

“We worked really hard for each other and fully deserved the win. The only annoying part was that we conceded.

“The team have gelled quickly and we have a much better squad than last season.”

“Now we just need to build on what we have already done.”

Rangers are due to face Dudley Town at the Dell tonight (7.45pm) before going to Pegasus Juniors on Saturday.

They will be without captain Alex Hammond (ankle) against Dudley.
