TIVIDALE boss Dave King is targeting new signings to add extra quality in attack.

Dale secured a battling point at home to Loughborough University last Saturday before suffering a defeat when hosting Lye Town two days later.

Against Loughborough, Steve Weaver had opened the scoring with a sublime lob from the halfway line on 29 minutes before the visitors hit back just before the break through Josh Hill.

But Tivi failed to find the net as they lost 2-0 against Lye on Monday. It means King’s men still await their first league win of the season.

The manager is now keen to add two new faces to boost his forward options at the Beeches.

He said: “I wasn’t too disappointed as I’d have taken a point from the two games beforehand. I can’t fault the effort and commitment of the players in any way.

“I think we are just lacking a bit of extra quality in the attacking areas and it is something I want to address by bring in some fresh faces.

“We have to play a lot of games so we need extra numbers anyway.

“I thought conceding when we did against Loughborough was a key moment in the game. Even so, we still had a few chances to win it late on.

“Lye are a good side, will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season and have a colossal budget compared to us. We did well but again didn’t take the chances that came our way.

“We are getting better and just need to look ahead now.”

Tivi’s need for extra forward recruits has increased with the news that Craig Tibbetts is out for a month after dislocating his big toe against Loughborough.

Dale don’t play this Saturday but welcome St Andrews next Tuesday (7.45pm).
