TREMENDOUS Tom Kohler-Cadmore produced one of the best batting displays ever seen by a Himley player as he put rivals Smethwick to the sword.

The Worcestershire star scored 103 off 38 balls, reaching his century in just 32 balls.

He smashed an incredible 12 sixes and six fours in his boundary laden innings as he helped Himley finish the season with a five wicket win.

Himley chairman Gordon Lewis described Kohler-Cadmore's innings as the finest in the club's history and said: "Anyone who can score 100 in 32 balls has to go down as one of the greatest innings by a Himley player. The fact he was scoring more than three a ball is a magnificent feat in itself!

"Some of the sixes that he struck went for miles and I think one of them even went over the hotel at Smethwick's Broomfields ground!

Smethwick skipper Vikram Jit Sodhi had opened the bowling for Smethwick despite the fact they had former Warwickshire players Mo Sheikh and Naqaash Tahir in their ranks.

Kohler-Cadmore pummelled him for 50 runs off just two overs and Lewis admitted: "His bowling wasn't the best, but you can only play what's put in front of you."

Himley completed their Birmingham League Division One campaign in mid table, but Lewis confirmed promotion would be the target next season.

He claimed: "We have such a good crop of young players coming through and it has been our philosophy this season to keep faith with them.

"We didn't go down the road of bringing in an overseas player because we wanted to develop our youngsters further.

"Quite a number of our youngsters are already being coveted by other clubs, so it's important to give them their chance, otherwise they'll go elsewhere."
