DUDLEY Sports got back to winning ways with a much-needed 4-1 victory at home to Smethwick.

The win was Sports' first in the league for 12 games since their 4-2 success against Ellesmere Rangers at the end of August.

A double from Adam Skeldon and strikes from Stuart Hillman and substitute Richard Nicholson made sure Dudley came out on top.

Manager Tony Gore now wants his side to build on the win.

He said: "It was a really good performance and has been a long time coming. We rode our luck for 20 minutes in the second half but full deserved the win.

"The most pleasing thing was how we defended, even though we scored four it was our defending that was key to the win.

"Obviously we now want to build on that. We have games in hand on the teams above us and still have to play them all yet. We know those games in hard are going to be key."

Sports are set to take on Willenhall Town away tonight before welcoming Shifnal Town to Hillcrest Avenue this Saturday.
