STOURBRIDGE boss Gary Hackett wants his side to bounce back quickly from back-to-back league and cup defeats.

Stour lost 4-1 at Sutton Coldfield last Saturday before a much-changed line-up exited the League Cup on Monday night by the same scoreline against Grantham Town.

"We have been on a remarkable run and we all knew it would come to a halt at some stage, but it just wasn't in the circumstances we would have wanted," added Hackett.

"We didn't defend well or take our chances.

"But we didn't get carried away when we went 12 games unbeaten in the league and we won't get carried away just because we have lost one game.

"The league cup did give us a chance to blood some youngster but it is still a competition I'm not a big fan of. We already play a lot of games and I'm not sure what benefit anyone gets out of it."

The Glassboys now face a vital home double as they look to get their promotion big back on track.

Coalville Town will travel to the War Memorial Ground this Saturday (3pm) before Ashton United visit on Monday night (7.45pm).

"We will bounce back," said Hackett. "It was always going to be tough coming off the back of our FA Cup run and then losing two very good defenders but we have two home games and the chance to kick on again."

Stour will be without Brandon Hague (ear) and Brad Birch (hand) but Luke Benbow and Kayleden Brown could feature after being protected from Sutton's 3G pitch last weekend.

The biggest loss for the Glassboys comes with the news that Chris Lait could be missing for a fortnight as he looks to overcome back and groin troubles.
