HALESOWEN Town boss John Hill says his players won't be affected by off-field issues at the club.

The Yeltz and Steve Lynch were charged by the Football Association last week for a number of rule breaches.

The charges, three for Lynch and nine of the club, include issues surrounding Lynch's former involvement with Eastwood Town and his alleged failure to disclose his interest in the Yeltz at the same time.

Other charges for the club include breaches of rules regarding a loan in 2012 and problems with the reporting of accounts covering from October 2011 to March 2013.

The Yeltz had until December 9, 2016 to respond to the charges and are now awaiting a personal hearing on the matter.

However, Town's players responded by hitting their highest scoring victory of the campaign as they beat Mickleover Sports 4-2 at the Grove last Saturday.

Hednesford loanee Tristian Dunkley scored twice with Lee Chilten and substitute Ethan Delaney also finding the back of the net as Hill's men bagged their second win in three games.

Hill said: "The atmosphere in the squad is really good at the moment despite their being a bit of doom and gloom around the club.

"The charges have been a talking point in the dressing room but the players have put it to the back of their minds now. Players quickly move on and we will just concentrate on what we can do on the pitch.

"Our aim is to get as many points as we can to start moving up the table and make sure we are in this division next season regardless of anything else."

Hill was pleased with the Mickleover victory and says it's a sign that his side is starting to find its rhythm after the recent disruption of six players heading for the exit.

"It was always going to be difficult with so many players moving on but we are starting to get there again now. We aren't fully settled yet but you can see we are making progress," he added.

"We deserved the win over Mickleover but it was a game that could have gone either way and was evenly poised until we got ourselves ahead."

The clash also marked Asa Charlton's 200th for the club.

Hill was fully of proiase for the 39-year-old defender, saying: "Ada has done brilliantly for us. He is always consistent and never lets you down."

The Yeltz will now face Matlock Town away this Saturday looking for more points to push them away from the Northern Premier League dropzone.
