CRADLEY boss Will Pottinger admits tougher tests are just around the corner after his side's massive opening night win over King’s Lynn.

The Heathens return to Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green for their next home match on Easter Monday, April 17, when they face Mildenhall.

But they started the season by tearing apart King’s Lynn 61-29 at Birmingham last week with every rider in the points.

Pottinger said: “It was a very pleasing, confidence boosting result for the lads.

“But we know there will be tougher tests ahead, starting with Mildenhall on Bank Holiday Monday at Wolverhampton.

“King’s Lynn weren’t the strongest but you can only do the job on the night and it was nice to see all the lads in the points.

“I was particularly pleased to see riders like Luke Harris and Joe Lawlor scoring well. I think we have potential to have a good season.”

Tom Perry opened his campaign with a maximum on his return to the Heathens side after two seasons with Birmingham.

Perry said: "It's great to be back with Cradley and I obviously couldn't have asked for a better start!

"To get my own season up and running like that is ideal and hopefully I can put in performances similar to that all season.

"It wasn't just about me though, everyone rode well and everyone did their job and more.

"We know we'll have tougher meetings this year but there were definitely plenty of encouraging signs from all of the team.

"We wanted to send a message out to the rest of the league and I think we definitely did that!

“Now we’re really looking forward to the next meeting on Easter Monday and it would be great to see a packed Monmore Green to support the boys!”
