HOMETOWN hero Ryan 'Tank' Aston started back on the path towards a Midlands title tilt when he made a winning ring return in Dudley.

The southpaw bagged a points success after four rounds against Lithuanian Deividas Sajauka on the PJ Promotions show at the Venue, High Street, on Saturday night.

Aston, last seen going down in a fight of the year contender to Craig Cunningham for the Midlands middleweight title last May, blew away the cobwebs with 40-36 win.

He started well and was always on the front foot and seeking out left hooks to the body but had to be patient.

He landed a solid left hook to the head of his tricky opponent at the very start of the third and continued to find his range from there on.

He had even more joy in the fourth and final round with good right-hand jabs and a clubbing right to the head as he came out on top.

'Tank' quickly turned his attentions to working his way back into Midland Title contention after the success.

He said: "That fight did the job and blew away the cobwebs tonight. The jab was key, I caught him clean and stuck to my boxing.

"I kept my distance, changed my angles, changed my positions and did what was required.

"Now it's about the Midland Title again. I've been there before but it has to be mine this time.

"I've been working on a few little things, the simple things with my new team and that was just what I needed.

"Hopefully I'll be back out soon and will get some more smart rounds under my belt and make sure I'm ready for the shot when it comes."

It was also a successful night for Rowley Regis' Tyler Denny who maintained his unbeaten record with a comprehensive win over William Warburton.

Denny came out firing in the first of six rounds as he worked both the head and body in equal measure.

His quicker hands and better work-rate saw him quickly pick off the rounds for a 60-54 win.

Meanwhile, Redditch's Andy Robinson had a tough evening against never-stopped Adam Jones.

The 32-year-old recovered from a sluggish start but could only salvage a draw from the six-round contest.

There were other wins on the night for Waleed Din, Kane Baker and Shaun Cooper.
