STOURBRIDGE's youth team are celebrating after retaining the Worcestershire County Youth Cup.

Kieran Bustin's youngsters defeated Evesham United 1 - 0 in a close, keenly-fought affair with midfielder Harvey Walker, who got some senior experience under his belt at Tividale towards the end of the season, notching the only goal of the game after 37 minutes with a tidy close range finish after a free-kick had been headed back into his path.

Meanwhile, first team player Brad Birch has left the Glassboys to join his hometown club Worcester City. He was announced as their first summer signing on Tuesday evening.

Young striker Brandon Hague has been given the all clear by his specialist to resume playing after missing the second half of last season with an infection that was affecting his balance.

It has now been confirmed that Stour will remain in the Evo-stik Northern Premier League Premier Division for the 2017-18 season.

Next season will see only one team relegated from the division as there will be a restructuring of the leagues in 2018-19 which includes an additional division at step three which is likely to cover much of the central band of England.
