HIMLEY will put themselves in a strong position if they can come out on top at home to Bromsgrove this Saturday, says skipper Greg Wright.

Wright is determined for his side to continue their early season progress in Division One of the Birmingham and District Premier League after being left frustrated by the weather last weekend.

Their clash at leaders Smethwick was abandoned due to the wet weather but attention quickly turns to the battle with Bromsgrove (noon start).

The Boars have started the campaign in a similar manner to Himley and sit just one place and one point behind in sixth position.

Wright said: "Bromsgrove always come out of the blocks quickly and do really well in the 50 over format. They have a good balance with bat and ball.

"It's going to be tough for us but we really do want to try and carry our momentum forward.

"A win would put us in a strong position. It's a game we're looking forward to.

"It's also another chance for us to continue on our learning curve. There is no massive expectations on us. We just want to keep taking small steps in the right direction.

"It was annoying that we couldn't play Smethwick because we went there backing ourselves to upset them and end their good run."

Himley are set to be without in-form Worcestershire batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore this Saturday but Wright has no other major selection issues.
