OLD Hill will be boosted by the return of key man Nav Poonia for this Saturday's clash with C&R Hawks.

The experienced batsman has missed the last seven games with a hamstring injury but offers the Haden Hill outfit a big boost heading into the final stages of the campaign.

Fifth-from-bottom Old Hill will be looking to put more daylight between themselves and second-from-bottom Penkridge when they hosts the Hawks this weekend (noon start).

Captain Jonathan Wright is pleased to have Poonia back, saying: "Going into the season he was probably our best and most experienced batsman.

"Having him back is a big boost and hopefully he can make a difference now."

Wright is also injured and facing up to five weeks on the sidelines after having an operation on an arm injury.

It means Ravi Nagra will deputise for the second week after taking the role during last Saturday's abandoned clash at Coventry and North Warwickshire.

"The game was quite even at the time but I thought we'd done well on a difficult pitch for batting.

"We've been playing some good cricket in recent weeks though and we just need to make sure we carry that forward.

"We have been disrupted by injuries throughout the season but are starting to find more consistency.

"Ravi will again step up this Saturday and he's more than capable of leading the side. He's experienced and knowledgeable about the game and he'll do well."
