MATT Fisher says his Gornal Athletic players will have to overcome the physical challenge of West Midlands League Division One if they're to realise their promotion aim this season.
The Peacocks are looking to bounce back from relegation last term and will start the campaign at potential title rivals Newport Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The manager says his pre-season plans were built around bringing back a winning mentality to Garden Walk, which will have been helped with an eye-catching 2-1 win over Worcester City, as well as preparing his troops for the physical nature of their new surroundings.
Fisher said: "We will have to overcome the physical test first of all. There is no doubt this league is more physical and it something we have to be ready for.
"We need to be able to match that without losing our temper and getting involved in silly incidents.
"If we lose our heads we'll lose points and that is something we must avoid.
"Pre-season has gone well, the win over Worcester gave everyone a buzz, and I've managed to keep the players I wanted from last year.
"Newport, Tipton and Darlaston will be our main rivals. Playing Newport in the first game will give us a good idea of where we are."
Meanwhile, the club has again been boosted by the support of main sponsor Black Country Scaffolding for another season.
