DUDLEY Town manager Andy Allardice has demanded more from his players following a disappointing defeat against Bewdley.

The Robins lost 3-0 at the Dell last Saturday as they failed to back up their opening day win at Bridgnorth.

Allardice was left to rue his bad luck after Andy Arnold and Daz Hand were both injured in the same incident with the score at 0-0 on the hour mark.

Arnold suffered a serious gash to the head as he went up for an aerial but then inadvertently injured his team-mate's ankle as he landed.

However, while the Dudley boss thinks the incident turned the game he also believes his players should have dealt with the disruption better.

He said: "We lost two influential players in the one incident and we seemed to lose confidence after that.

"We knew Bewdley would come flying at us but we had done well until that point.

"The players coming on have to do more and others also need to make sure it doesn't affect us as much as it did."

The Robins are due to go to Cradley Town on Tuesday before a trip to Bilston Town this Saturday.

Allardice is hoping both Arnold and Hand will be able to return in time for the weekend.

He has also boosted his squad by welcoming defender Jay Weston and midfielder Ethan Barnett back to the club.

Meanwhile, Gornal Athletic picked up their first point of their West Midlands League Division One season.

Matt Fisher's men drew 3-3 at Old Wulfrunians last Saturday.

They will go in search of their first win when they welcome Team Dudley to Garden Walk this Saturday (3pm kick-off).
