CRADLEY new boy Richard Hall is preparing for a family affair in their crunch clash with local rivals Birmingham at Monmore Green on Monday.

Hall will face off with stepson Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, the teenage hotshot who is leading the Brummies’ quest for a third straight National League title.

The derby date is a huge occasion for both clubs as they fight to reach the all-important top four to earn a play-off place.

But Hall insists his new side have what it takes to secure bragging rights and claim a vital three points.

“It will be quite a rivalry,” said Hall. “We went up against each other with Sheffield and Peterborough earlier this year, we clashed and he put out his shoulder.

“It is always nice to go up against Jack, he is an up-and-coming rider who is on a mission for Birmingham at the minute and riding really well. Come what may, there will be no hard feelings.

“We know what Birmingham can do around Monmore Green but our top three is capable of matching theirs.”

Hall got his Heathens career off to a dream start with a maximum in last week’s crushing win over the Isle of Wight at Perry Barr.

And he is hoping for more of the same having given his confidence a much-needed boost.

“Hopefully, there will be plenty more maximums to come,” he declared. “It was a good return because I have struggled a lot with confidence all season.

“I would have been happy to go home with 10 points but this maximum has given me the boost I needed to kick on and finish the season well.

“It was great to be back and I would like to thank the Cradley fans for making me feel so welcome.”
