LYE Town have come through their customary start of season on the road with a four match unbeaten run.

Drawn contests at Highgate United and Stourport Swifts saw Lye reduced to 10 men on both occasions after Simon Williams and then Luke Paskin both picking up red cards respectively.

Lye followed up with a 3-2 win at Shawbury United courtesy of a Jack Till hat-trick and then pulled off their best result to date last Saturday with a 4-1 success at Long Eaton.

Goals from Reece Shilvock, Jack Till and Alex Dallinson fired Lye into a 3-0 lead by half time.

Ben Billingham stretched the advantage further when firing home a fabulous goal from the half way line before Lye conceded a late consolation goal.

Lye look to continue their winning spree this Saturday when they play hosts to Loughborough University at Stourbridge Road.

Luke Paskin should return from suspension along with injury hit Kalum Evitts.

Lye have recruited former Stourbridge players in goalkeeper Charlie Price and utility player Jacob Wedderburn along with Fairfield Villa marksman Connor Collins, who previously played at Halesowen Town.

Joint manager Martin Thomas, who now shares his duties with Craig 'Chopper' Harris confirmed: "It's always difficult when you have to play the opening games away from home owing to groundsharing with Lye Cricket Club but we've done well in pre season and the players are keen to press-on."
