GARY Hackett has bolstered Stourbridge’s defensive and midfield options with the loan signing of versatile Kennedy Digie from Kidderminster Harriers.

Kennedy returns to the War Memorial Ground for his second spell with the club and will be a Glassboy until his loan spell ends on November 18.

The 20-year-old, who has made four appearances for Harriers this season, spent the end of last season on loan with Stour and was part of the team that just missed out on promotion through the play-offs.

He made a total of eight appearances for Gary Hackett’s men and returns on loan in time for Saturday’s Evo-Stik Premier fixture against Grantham Town.

Kennedy first signed a contract with Kidderminster in 2014 after graduating through the National League North side’s Academy system.

He spent most of the 2015/16 season on loan at Hednesford Town, making over 40 appearances for the Pitmen.

Last season he had temporary spells with Worcester City and Halesowen Town, playing against Stour for the Yeltz in the 2-2 draw in Amblecote last September.

Kennedy ended the last campaign with the Glassboys, making his debut in the 3-1 home win over Ilkeston in March, and scored his only goal in the 2-1 victory over the Robins in Derbyshire.

He started both the 3-2 play-off semi-final win over Workington as well as the 1-0 defeat at Spennymoor in the final before returning to Kidderminster.
