HALESOWEN Town assistant manager Matt Clarke admits it's been difficult to include exciting striker Derek Roland Agbor this season.

The Yeltz drew 1-1 with second placed Warrington Town last Saturday as Agbor netted his second goal in three games.

However, Clarke highlighted how he and manager John Hill have struggled to fit the hitman into their plans despite fans regularly calling for his inclusion.

Clarke said: "The reality is that his availability has not been good.

"I understand that the supporters want to see him starting more but they also have to understand that he just hasn't been available enough this season.

"Of course we'd like to give him more games. We all joke that his real name is Derek Hill because of how much he gets on with the manager.

"But one game he was scoring a brilliant goal against Ashton and the next game he wasn't around.

"The stats do show that he has been best used as an impact substitute for us this season but the bigger problem is his work commitments.

"That is something he's going to have to try and change for next season. There is no doubt about it, another club would have released him.

"We kept him around, especially because of the situation we were in, and he has rewarded us for that recently.

"It's a big thing for us at Halesowen that everyone turns up for training and you have to be fair to the other players in the squad."

Meanwhile, on the Warrington draw, he added: "I thought they were the better side for the first half without really creating too much.

"Once we got the equaliser I thought the longer the game went on the more likely we would be to get the winner.

"In the end it was another good point away and it's another indication of how far we have come.

"Since confirming our safety we have drawn with both Warrington and Ashton and have been disappointed that we didn't win both."

The Yeltz are due to face Mickleover Sports away on Wednesday night before concluding their season by welcoming Stalybridge Celtic to the Grove this Saturday (3pm).

"We do want to try and end on a high against Stalybridge. We have shown what we can do when the group has really been together," added Clarke.

"We said that we didn't want to limp over the line, we wanted to burst through the door and then carry that momentum into next season."
