THE Halesowen College men’s football team are celebrating after the winning their league for the second year in a row.

With two games to spare the team have been crowned ECFA West Midlands Region Category 3 Premier League Champions in style with an 8-1 win over Cirencester College.

The team are made up of BTEC Level Two and Three students on the Football Development Programme. They take part in the league alongside full-time study at college.

Alex Storey, curriculum team manager for sport and public services, said: “This is a fantastic achievement, the students have worked hard all season and deserve all the praise they are receiving. Congratulations to them, and thanks to the staff who have supported them through both their academic and football development.”
