DUDLEY College student Joshua Jones will be heading to the USA later this summer to take up a prestigious football opportunity.

Joshua, from Brierly Hill, will be joining Genesee Community College located in Batavia, New York. He will arrive in August to study and play for the Cougars soccer team.

He will have the opportunity to combine his university studies alongside playing high level football and training full time for the next four years. The opportunity has been facilitated through the assistance of PASS4Soccer Scholarships.

The Dudley College Football Academy player is delighted to have secured a soccer scholarship through the PASS4Soccer Scholarship Network.

His achievement is in recognition of both his academic achievements to date and athletic ability.

He took part in the PASS4Soccer USA Coach Showcase in December 2017 and a US Tour to Charlotte, North Carolina, in March 2018 to help further their exposure to universities in the USA and those reviewing the video footage online.

PASS4Soccer Director Daniel Gray added: “JJ has been great to deal with throughout the process and has had great support from Dudley College and his family to allow him to accept the place in the USA. Genesee Community College are the NJCAA National Champions from 2017 so JJ is joining a top program that will help him continue his football development while starting his undergraduate degree. Having had the opportunity to get to know JJ we are confident he will be a great success.”
