DEAN Whitehouse is looking forward to seeing how Dudley Town's young guns progress this season.

The Robins overcame a tough relegation scrap last term but are now hoping for more heading into the new West Midlands Premier League campaign.

Town will start with this Saturday's clash against Pegasus Juniors at their new home in York Road, Oldbury (3pm kick-off).

Boss Whitehouse has added experience in the form of player/coach Craig Love but hopes the team's youngsters can continue their development.

Jason Rhodes and Gavin Burborough have also come in to coach the 16-18 year olds in the Dudley youth set-up.

Whitehouse said: "First and foremost we need to make sure we avoid being involved in another relegation battle.

"We have kept the bulk of the young lads from last season and they deserve their chance again. We've added some experience to help them but the hard work starts now.

"Eventually we they have to grow up and we have to go from being a good young side to just a good side.

"If they kick on then they will be snapped up and we'll have to make sure we have that production line in place to replace them.

"That's the route we're going down now at Dudley Town but it also means that the pressure is off us.

"It would be nice to have some big businesses come in and help us get Dudley Town where they belong but until then we will take on the challenge of developing our young players and seeing where that takes us."

On the move from the Dell Stadium to York Road, he added: "It's great to have a new place to start the season.

"It already feels like home and everyone is looking forward to playing there for the first game on Saturday."
