Goodrich 3 Dudley Town 1

The Robins suffered a surprise defeat at improving Goodrich on Tuesday night in a game they never looked like winning.

Despite a good start Goodrich took control of the game and Dudley were wasteful at time.

Jake Morgan had the first chance for the visitors but headed wide from an Ashton cross.

Good work by Jamie Oliver down the right on 14 minutes saw him cook up a low cross which reached Lee Wherton but he blazed a half volley over the bar.

A free kick from player-manager Rob Perks on 17 was tipped over by keeper Astley.

Is counterpart in the Dudley goal James Pemberton also made a good save on 29 minutes when he tipped the ball over. But from the resulting corner, Wayne Hughes forced the ball home to make it 1-0.

Dudley were denied a fairly blatant penalty on 38 minutes when Perks was brought down by Scott Sandland.

This put Dudley on the back foot and almost immediately Cameron Morgan went down the other end and increased the lead.

Great work by Jake Morgan for Dudley saw him pull one back a minute before half time.

But Sandland got his second and Goodrich’s third on 54 minutes when he was supplied by Michael McMahon and Dudley never looked like coming back although substitute Andy Dicken had a header cleared off the line.
