DUDLEY Sports have snapped up former Stourbridge midfielder Lee Dimmock as they continue preparations for the new West Midlands Premier league season.

Joint manager Paul Blakeley revealed the High Ercal Avenue outfit are also on the look out for a new goalkeeper, while central defender Liam Newall has joined from Lye Town.

Blakeley said the club hoped to add several more faces before the new season gets underway on August 8.

He said: “Pre-season is well underway and things are going well.

“There is a lot of work going on at the club behind the scenes, people are really committed to helping out.

“At the moment we have eight or nine players away on holiday so that can disjoint things a bit but at least they are having their holiday now and not after the season begins!”

Sports play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday when they meet Blackheath Town at Oldbury United’s former York Road home (3pm kick-off).

The club faces tough away fixtures in the FA Cup at Southam United and in the FA Vase at Old Wulfrunians but Blakeley is confident his side will give a good account of themselves.

Blakeley added: “They are tough draws but we will look forward to the games, we played Old Wulfrunians three times last season and beat then twice.

“It’s all about how you perform on the day.”
