DUDLEY Sports are celebrating after securing a new sponsorship deal with Stourbridge College.

The Hagley Road college have sponsored Sports for the past three seasons and are set to continue the partnership for the forseeable future.

Several players from the college’s football academy have played for the Sports in recent years, including Nathan Kirby, Ross Harris and Chris Rabone.

The academy will also continue to play games at the club’s Hillcrest Avenue home.

On the pitch, Sports are preparing for a massive weekend in the FA Cup as they travel to Southern League Premier outfit Rugby Town in the first qualifying round.

Boss Tony Gore believes the game is the biggest in the club’s history.

He said: “The club is absolutely buzzing at the moment, it’s very exciting.

“The President, who has been here for decades, is absolutely over the moon.

“We know it’s going to be a tough ask but we are going there to really give it a go.

“Whatever happens we will be making sure we thoroughly enjoy the day.”

While Sports are dreaming of success in one competition, their hopes in another are over after they were knocked out of the FA Vase 4-1 by AFC Wulfrunians on Saturday.

Elsewhere, there was disappointment for Dudley Town who went down 2-1 away at Ludlow Town in the league.

The Robins now host Wolverhampton Casuals at the Dell on Saturday (3pm).
