FIVE goals in as many second half minutes saw Dudley Knights routed 8-0 against Bloxwich.
Sol Buckner’s side made a better start at Ormiston and Sandwell Community Academy, keeping the door shut for 12 minutes before Bloxwich scored from a short corner.
Minutes later keeper Martin Matthews was judged to have sat on the ball during a goal mouth melee conceding a penalty stroke.
It was three on 25 minutes as the visitors scored their first from open play.
Buckner’s second half team talk did little to inspire his troops as they immediately conceded five goals from the re-start.
Bloxwich helped themselves to another four goals before the final whistle eventually came to huge relief.
Buckner said: “We’re facing a very long, hard season. But we have improved because we were strong for the 20 minutes.
“It’s just the other 50 that we’ve got to work on.”
The Knights have a break from the league this weekend and travel to Walsall for a friendly fixture on Saturday. For more visit www.dudleyknights.co.cc
