DUDLEY Ladies seconds moved to the top of the league with a 5-2 win at Uttoxeter.
They made a great start, pulling Uttoxeter’s defence apart with an early goal from Abbie Fairley, before Steph Gawthorpe doubled the lead from a short corner.
Dudley continued to apply the pressure, with Elaine Mason driving the ball down to the backline and a well-placed cross finding Trudy Rock in the D who slotted home Dudley’s third.
But Dudley found themselves on the receiving end when Uttoxeter converted a short corner of their own to make it 3-1 at half time.
The visitors began the second half strongly and Fairley restored the three goal advantage by slotting home her second.
Despite a string of great saves from keeper and Staffs man of the match Michelle McGowan, Uttoxeter managed to slot their second into the back of the net.
But Dudley were not to be deterred and found themselves on the attack soon after from which Rock struck her second goal.
