BRIERLEY Hill welterweight Martin Gordon is gearing up for a title shot after being granted a rapid re-match with Rob Doody - with the fight set to be broadcast across the globe.

Gordon will take on Doody for the British Masters title on First Team Promotions Crunch Time at Lunch Time bill at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Sunday March 14, with the whole show set to be streamed online.

Fight fans can watch the 12 fights at hattonboxing.tv thanks to a deal between First Team and Hatton Promotions, with all the action will be covered by four ringside cameras.

The cost is £2.99, with a £1 from each sale going to Help the Heroes.

If the re-match is anything like the first fight in January, it will be well worth the money.

Gordon, unbeaten in his last three bouts, found himself with an uphill battle after Doody dominated the first four rounds of the fight at Birmingham’s Holiday Inn.

But Gordon dug deep to come back and draw the fight 76-76, coming close to felling Doody in a dramatic finale.

Middleweight Jamie Ball and light welterweight Richie Ghent will also both feature on the bill in Wolverhampton, with both men boasting unbeaten records.

Other fighters involved include Birmingham welterweight Nasser Al-Harbi, tipped as a future world champion by former WBC super-middleweight king Richie Woodhall, and Bromsgrove KO king Alex Strutt.

Promoter PJ Rowson, of First Team, said he was keen to help bring boxing back into the public conscience.

He said: “Boxing was always on terrestrial television when I was growing up and the boxers were household names.

“They were as well known as Premier League footballers are known today.

“It was a mainstream sport back then and by providing this service on the internet for the price of a pint, we are helping to bring the sport back to the public.

“We are delighted to team up with Hatton TV and hope this is the first of many shows with them.

“The fighters know they have the chance to impress boxing fans across the world on the internet and that’s added incentive for them. This is a massive chance for them.”

Tickets for the show are selling well and Rowson is also offering sponsorship opportunities which includes one-minute advertisements between rounds live on the net.
