DUDLEY United Ladies boss Andy Mulligan takes his side to Leamington this weekend knowing a win would virtually secure the title.
United are 12 points clear of their opponents, who do have two games in hand but a vastly inferior goal difference.
Coventry City are the only other side who can realistically challenge Dudley for the West Midlands Division One South crown and Mulligan is expecting a tight game in Warwickshire.
He said: “It will be tough, we have a number of players missing and a draw would not be a bad result.
“If we get anything it would mean the title is virtually in our hands and I am expecting them to come at us all guns blazing from the start - they have got to beat us.”
United maintained their excellent run of form with a 2-0 win over Ferndale on Sunday, though Mulligan’s usually free-scoring side were made to sweat as they did not take the lead till ten minutes from time.
Mulligan added: “It was one of those days where nothing seemed to be going right, I didn’t think we were ever going to score.
“Fair play to them, a lot of teams have shown us too much respect but they really gave it a go.”
