HALESOWEN serving sensation Jordanne Whiley will once again represent Britain in the World Team Cup.
The wheelchair tennis star is one of three women selected by the Tennis Foundation for next month’s event in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Whiley, the current British number one, has a long and successful history in the annual Davis Cup-style competition having played on six previous occasions.
She was a member of the team that won the junior World Team Cup event in 2007 and the women’s team that reached the final of the women’s event in 2009, before wnning a bronze medal last year.
Whiley, who will team up with Somerset’s Lucy Shuker and Wiltshire’s Louise Hunt, said: “I’ve got lots of nice memories from the World Team Cup.
“We’ve done well to reach the semi-finals in the last competitions and winning the bronze medal last year when me and Louise played all the singles and doubles matches.
“That was tough but we pulled it off in a tense play-off against Switzerland.
“This year we’ve got all the players that were there in the 2009 final, so hopefully we can mount a strong challenge again.”
Team manager Paul Regan said: “We have selected our strongest team and I am confident the players will do GB proud in Korea.”
