Roynon misses out on Fours

DUDLEY Heathens boss Will Pottinger has named his side for the defence of their National League Fours title this Sunday.

And they’ll have to do it without star skipper Adam Roynon, who has been in blistering form this season because he’s on Premier League duty with Workington.

But Pottinger still believes his side have enough quality to edge through to the final.

The event, which features both semi-finals and the final, takes place at Stoke’s Loomer Road track this Sunday at 3pm.

Heathens, who face Rye House, Isle of Wight and hosts Stoke in their semi, are represented by Tom Perry, James White Williams, Ashley Morris and Byron Bekker.

Pottinger said: “It was a great night when we won the trophy last season and obviously it’s a big blow to be without Adam.

“But the boys will be up for it and I’ve gone for James instead of one of our reserves because he has more experience.

“I’m sure we’ll have plenty of Heathens support as Stoke isn’t too far away and it should be a good day out.”

Roynon will return to the Heathens side for their massive Knockout Cup semi-final clash with the Isle of Wight at Wolverhampton next Tuesday, June 12.
