11:34am Monday 25th June 2012 in Sport
HEATHENS look at extend their lead at the top of the National league table when they face Buxton Hitmen at Monmore on Tuesday (7.30pm).
The former Cradley club have won all five of their meetings so far – four of them away – and are aiming to complete the double against their rivals from Derbyshire.
Will Pottinger’s men have won 10 out of 12 meetings in all competitions and their recent win at Buxton was a club record away success dating back to the Cradley days in 1947.
Fans will have the chance to meet the record-breaking team between 6.30 and 7pm when they arrive at the stadium as the riders will be available for autographs and pictures by the turnstiles.
And they’ll be wearing new race jackets for the first time as the club are set to reveal details of a major team sponsorship deal.
Said Pottinger: “Things are going extremely well for us but we need to keep it going and we can’t afford to take things for granted.
“We have a job to do against Buxton and despite our brilliant win at their track last week we have to treat them with the greatest of respect.”
HEATHENS: Adam Roynon, James White Williams, Tom Perry, Byron Bekker, Ashley Morris, Darryl Ritchings, Dan Greenwood.
BUXTON: Rob Branford, Chris Widman, Luke Priest, Dean Felton, Adam McKinna, Richard Andrews, Ryan Blacklock.
