STOURBRIDGE rider Adam Wells excelled in the penultimate round of the British Masters Moto Cross Championship Round Five in Potrilas, Herefordshire.

Wells, pictured, was second after Saturday morning qualifying, with Emerson Jones in pole and Aidan Wigger third.

Race one saw Wells battle at the front with Jones, both riders taking soil samples at some point in the race But the former eventually settled into a fast pace and brought the Underdog Racing Honda home 20 seconds clear of Jones.

In races two. three and four, Wells was simply in a class of his own, storming to three more wins on the bounce.

With the final championship round next month he now carries a 28-point lead of Jones going into the next round at the Foxhills track, Swindon.
