Five star Hughes fires Pensnett to win

LIAM Hughes scored five as Pensnett United demolished Three Crowns 7-1 in the Dudley and Cradley Heath League.

Glasscutters are continuing to find life in the Premier Division hard after their promotion as they were on the end of an 11-1 defeat against FC Baggeridge.

First-half hat-tricks from Dave Jones and Tom Guest made the second-half a mere formality but didn’t stop Guest, Lee Harris, Matt Bates, Ryan Evans and Frankie Bennett piling on the misery, before Dean Evans scored a consolation for Glasscutters.

Spills Meadow’s unbeaten league run came to an end as they were comprehensively beaten 6-1 by top of the table Bush Athletic.

Hotshot Lee Chilton notched a hat-trick with Nathan Anderson, Kieren Bennet and Tyrone Poulter also scoring. Martin Guest got the consolation goal for Spills.

Dudley United edged a thriller 3-2 against Ocker Hill Waggon in Division One.

Connor Bodin scored two in the first half for Dudley, one from the penalty spot, before Shaun Steveton and Ashley Harris levelled things up for Waggon after the break.

A draw looked likely but in the final minutes a long throw from Mathew Taylor was converted by Lewis Hill for Dudley to snatch all three points.

Goals for Alan Gordon, Richard Brookes, Craig Loydon and Ben Woodhall saw Sedgley White Lions run out 4-0 victors over Forest Falcons.

Meanwhile, a much improved Ruiton side picked their first point of the season after a 3-3 draw with Tenth Lock.
