Angling Stars Turn Out For Kids Charity.

NSPCC committee volunteers, Rachael White & Lesley Purchase, joined internationally recognized midlands angling stars, Rob Hales, Des Taylor & Matt Hayes, for a NSPCC fundraising event at the Monument Fishery, Shifnal, Shropshire last week.

Also in the photograph are fishery bailiffs Sam Anslow & Dave Treasure and young anglers, Josh Hales and Jade Morris.

Biggest fish caught on the day was a 34-8-0 carp, that fell to 11 year old Stoke-On-Trent angler Callun Slezak fishing with Lee Burns.

All the anglers at the event paid £100 to fish and meet some of the top names in angling.

The all day fundraiser raised over £1200 for the NSPCC children's charity.

Decathlon Angler Of The Month.

This month's prize of a Decathlon Geologic reel goes to Dan Tate of Halesowen, Dan runs Hunnington Fishery at Romsley and last week decided to have a go at this fishing lark when he borrowed an angler's tackle for a 10 minute session.

After a few small carp and roach on waggler fished red maggots, the theatre loving fishery owner, took centre stage with this fine 10lb common carp, the biggest fish caught at the complex that day.

Dan has now decided to start fishing on a regular basis, so the award of the prize reel will help him begin assembling a collection of tackle of his own.

All Dan has to do is take along a copy of this article to the Decathlon Sports Superstore at The Merry Hill Retail Park, to claim his prize.
