YIPPPPEEEE! Formula 1 is back! In my house that means EastEnders Omnibus will be relegated to the portable TVs because I’ll be watching the race in HD.

And believe me this season there will be more drama on the track than if our Whitney got kidnapped by some criminals that could actually act.

Though I love my race weekends I’m happy that the first race has been delayed and is where it always should be - Melbourne. Remember last year’s borefest in Bahrain?

Nope, the Crown Prince Blah Blah made the right decision abandoning the first Grand Prix.

I mean it would be awkward having the world’s media in town when you’ve just hired an outside army to gun down your protesting countrymen.

And, full marks to Mark Webber for being the only F1 driver to have the balls to mention that whole ‘innocent people being killed’ issue.

I’d love to see him win his home race, let us just hope he remembers his job and keeps off a mountain bike this weekend.

This season is going to be great, more World Champions on the grid than ever before. And of course it is ending in the right place - Brazil.

Just after the first practice the narrative of the season, McLaren will struggle, has been turned on its head.

Three old school wheel to wheel take risks racers in Alonso, Schumacher and Hamilton and the super-smooth save tyres of Jenson Button.

And not forgetting the Steptoe and Son combination of Webber and Vettell in the Red Bulls locked in a battle between each other as well as everyone else on the grid.

And of course who can forget the politics, the old ringmaster Bernie grabbing barmy headlines and of course the rows over rule changes and team orders.

The greatest thing about F1 is the circus that surrounds it. All the cars being the same? Err no thanks it is a team sport and that is what is wonderful about the whole shebang!
