The 16-year-old is currently ranked fourth in Great Britain at the 200m backstroke and has picked up an array of medals at events all around the world during the calendar year.

The Haybridge High School pupil picked up six medals from the Queensland National Championships, in Australia as well as a clutch of gongs from the European Junior Championships.

Lauren has had to had to put Christmas festivities to the back of her mind as she trains for the Olympic Trials to be held in Sheffield in April.
