Following in family footsteps

Dudley's big new boxing hope will step into the ring as a professional for the first time next week aiming to continue in his uncle's footsteps.

Jamie Ball (pictiured) will step out at Wolverhampton Civic Hall next Wednesday for his debut bout against journey man Lance Verallo.

Ball, who had a succesful amateur career at Priory ABC is looking forward to his big night.

In preparation, the 24-year-old quantity surveyor has seeked some advice from uncle Shaun Cooper.

The 40-year-old, who was a national amateur champion in the 1980's before turning professional , has been passing on plenty of information to prepare his nephew for his professional debut.

Also on the bill is unbeaten Stourbridge boxer Scott Evans.

Tickets are still available by calling promoter PJ Rowson on 07976283157 or the Civic Hall Box Office on 0870 3207000.
