Stourbridge Rugby Club's all conquering U16s experienced their first defeat of the season away at Newport on Sunday.
With several first choice backs unavailable it was a close first half with both teams missing out on opportunities to score. The only try of the half was scored by James Bills when he powered over the line in the 32nd minute to give Stourbridge a 5-0 half-time lead. Within five minutes of the re-start Stour increased their lead when Kyle Lockley scored out wide. With Stourbridge making several changes in the pack the scoring from then on was all from Newport who took control of proceedings.
They scored four tries and three conversions in the final quarter of the match to come out on top 26-10 and leave the visitors licking their wounds.
